Bill of Materials
Congrats, you're officially an expert on bot parts! Have a sticker. Oh wait, I used the last one as a decal on my flying spiderbot. Have a cookie instead! Oops, I used the cookies as spiderbot fuel. Umm.. this greasy old gear I found in an alley..? Yes. Congratulations. 😅

Now it's time to create a list of the parts you want to get! This is called a "bill of materials." Maybe wash your hands first, though. To recap, you'll need:
If you want some ideas 🤔, here are some example bills of materials. You can't go wrong with any of these. The intermediate and expert sets can both create championship caliber bots. 🏅 And the beginner set can be upgraded to intermediate when you're ready. Keep in mind you'll still need a pilot and a controller!
🟢 Beginner ($100 - $160) — Age 7+
Wheels
x2 Tire 107x44

x2 Rim 56x34

x4 1/2 Bush

Scrap
The Move Hub has two built in motors. Just attach two wheels and you're up and running! A beginner bot competes by crashing into other bots like a demolition derby. When you're ready to add motorized tools, you can easily upgrade to intermediate!
*If you already own lots of LEGO® bricks, you can skip the Creative Color Fun.
🟡 Intermediate ($140 - $340) — Age 10+
Hub & Motors
x1 Move Hub

Extra Motors
Wheels
x2 Tire 107x44

x2 Rim 56x34

Scrap
The Move Hub has two built in motors. With your extra large motor
and the Large Angular Motor
included in the SPIKE™ Prime Expansion, an intermediate bot competes using powerful motorized tools!
*If you already own lots of LEGO® bricks, you can skip the Creative Color Fun.
**If you already own lots of Technic™, you can skip the SPIKE™ Prime Expansion. But you may want to replace it with a second large motor.
🔴 Expert ($180 - $390) — Age 12+
Hub, Motors, Wheels, and Scrap
Scrap
The Audio RS Q e-tron comes with 3 Technic™ Large Motors

and a Technic™ Hub
. Those parts alone are worth the full cost of the set, so the rest of its parts are basically free scrap.
Unlike the Move Hub
, the Technic™ Hub
has no built in motors. This is less beginner-friendly since you need to design your own drive system. But it means you get total freedom over how your bot looks and moves.
*If you already own lots of LEGO® bricks, you can skip the Creative Color Fun.
**If you already own lots of Technic™, you can skip the SPIKE™ Prime Expansion.
Once you've got your parts, you're ready for the next big step in your Bot Battles journey! You know what they say - to break the rules, you've gotta learn 'em first! And there's no one better to teach you than our Bot Battles judge, Ethan Hill! 🧑⚖️
They're probably getting ready for the next Bot Battle at the stadium right about now. If you hurry, you can find him before it starts. Look for a guy in a striped shirt who looks like he's having WAY too much fun yelling "Foul!"
